Seattle Tops Hawaii Again, 6-3
|
The Seattle Sasquatch got a strong performance from pitcher Ethan Jenkins, who stymied the visiting Hawaii Honu en route to a win, 6-3, in Game 2 of the Wild Card Round. The Honu could never get a bead on the left-handed Jenkins, who threw 8.1 innings allowing 3 runs. The Sasquatch now hold a 2-0 in the best-of-7 series.
An inflection point occurred with no one out in the bottom of the fifth. That's when Sasquatch third baseman Raul Navarro hit a fastball from Miles Sorrells for a 2-run home run. Just like that, Seattle was up, 2-1.
Said Seattle manager Vicente Vargas: "At the end of the day, these guys have to perform between the lines, and I think they did."
Game 3 is scheduled for Wednesday at Aloha Stadium.
