Blazers, Millers Play 11 to Settle Game 1, Bloomington Now Leads Series 1-0
|
The Bloomington Blazers started the Round 2 in dramatic fashion today, stealing Game 1 from the Milwaukee Millers in a walk-off in the 11th inning. Bloomington took the 3-2 win thanks in large part to a good day from starter Ruben Cahue. The left-hander threw 7.0 innings of 3-hit ball in the win, which gave the Blazers a 1-0 lead to start the best-of-7 series.
Bloomington won the game in the bottom of the 11th inning. With one out and Tore O'Brien on the mound for Milwaukee, designated hitter Quentin Collins hit a dramatic solo home run, bringing Blazers fans to their feet.
"Our guys are never satisfied," said Bloomington manager Salvo Bernardi.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Arson Arena in Bloomington.
