Nelson, Caribou Wallop Pirates in Game 2 of R2
Behind the big bat of left fielder Bill Nelson, the Frobisher Bay Caribou have opened up a healthy early lead in the League Championship Series. The Caribou topped the Paradise Island Pirates, 8-0, at Pittodrie Stadium in Game 2, and now hold a 2-0 edge in the best-of-7 series. Nelson went 2 for 3 with a home run, a triple, and 2 walks. He scored 2 times and drove in 5 to power Frobisher Bay to victory.

In the bottom of the first, Nelson had one of his most important at-bats: a 3-run home run off Yamada Anteau that staked the Caribou to a 3-0 lead.

"I'm just looking to see the ball, hit the ball," said Nelson.

Game 3 is scheduled for Wednesday at Predator Park.
