Host Honu Drop Pivotal Game 5, Now Trail Series 3-2

Game 5 was big. So was Mike Ortner.
The Vancouver starter rose to the occasion at Aloha Stadium, leading the Pioneers to a crucial 6-3 victory over the Hawaii Honu. Ortner threw 8.2 innings of 7-hit ball as the Pioneers won on the road to seize a 3-2 lead in the best-of-7 Wild Card Round.
Vancouver used the timely hitting of Luis Gallardo to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Pioneers on top, 3-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Mike giving us the start that he did was huge," said Vancouver manager Lemn Onkwani.
The next game is set to be played for Sunday, October 25th , 2065 at "The Fort" at B.C. Place in Vancouver.
