Elijah, Millers Sink Earthquakes Again in Game 3
|
Riding the 3-hit performance of center fielder Jake Elijah, the Milwaukee Millers got a road win against the San Francisco Earthquakes, 7-1, in Game 3 of the Round 1 today. Elijah was 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 2 for the Millers, who now lead the best-of-7 series, 3 games to 0.
Milwaukee used a well-timed hit by George Bell Jr. to capture the win. The shortstop socked a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Millers ahead, 3-1. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
Elijah said his team "played with focus."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Golden Gate Park in San Francisco.
