The West Island Jazz took down the Chicago Eclipse by the score of 9-3 and moved into a 1-1 tie in the Wild Card Round. The largest share of the credit belongs to West Island starter Sam Hickey, who threw 8.2 innings allowing 3 runs.

Kenny Cox helped out the West Island cause in the top of the eighth inning with a run-scoring walk. For the game, the second baseman drew 1 walk in 2 trips to the plate.

"Sam pitched his heart out," said West Island manager Pedro Gonzáles.
