The excitement in Traverse City is palpable as the local club has advanced through the Round 1.

The Traverse City Beach Bums downed the Seattle Sasquatch 6-4 tonight at Sasquatch Field at Brewbaker Family Memorial Stadium, to take the series 4-2.

"Things are going to get crazy in Traverse City for the Round 2. The fans are going to be behind us 100 percent, we know that," said Dave Ojeda, who earned MVP honors.

"There's a lot of motivation in our clubhouse right now to make sure we give them something to cheer about."

For the series, Ojeda hit .391 with a .440 on-base percentage. He had 9 hits, 2 home runs, 4 RBI and scored 4 runs.

The Round 2 matchups and schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
