Martians Sweep River Chiefs
The Moonbeam Martians earned their 9th League Championship Series title and now have all winter to spend basking in the glory, while the beaten Chippewa River Chiefs will have plenty of time to wonder what went wrong.

Moonbeam became the HIGH SINGLE A champion for 2066 with a 3-0 triumph to capture the series 4-0.

"Both clubs are talented. We just made fewer mistakes than they did," winning manager Daniel Wilson said to the press corps at the postgame press conference. "We made the crucial plays and got the timely hits."

Chippewa skipper Pang Yip agreed with that assessment, saying his club turned out to be "a little weak on fundamentals" at crucial times.

"I have a sneaking suspicion we will be working on fundamentals a lot next spring," he said.

On the way to the League Championship Series championship, the Martians ended up in first place in the RCL HA Dusty Baker Division and compiled a 126-36 record during the regular season.
