Fort Worth and Madison played a hard-fought contest.

The Fort Worth Cats got a magnificent performance from pitcher Bob Epperson, who muffled the Madison offense en route to a tight, 3-1 Cats win at The Corral. Epperson got the win, improving to 8-4. He gave up 4 hits and walked 4 over 8 innings. He allowed 1 run.

Ben Overby came through with a big-time hit for Fort Worth. The pinch hitter smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 3-1. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"For the most part, I made good pitches when I needed to," said Epperson.

The defeat makes Madison 81-59.
