The Bloomington Blazers started the Round 3 in style, winning on the road against the Eureka Hornets at The Nest by a score of 8-1 to take an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Blazers first baseman Josh Neuner excelled. He was 2-3 with a double and 2 walks, while scoring 2 and driving in 2.

Bloomington used the hitting of Mark Coppage to pick up the win. The third baseman clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Blazers on top, 3-0. For the game, Coppage had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

Coppage attributed the win to "a well-rounded effort by the whole team."
