Blazers Even With Toreros After Home Win
Cabo San Lucas first baseman Jimi van der Pol pounded Bloomington Blazers pitchers at Arson Arena, but it was not enough to keep the Toreros from falling, 13-5 in Game 2 of the Divisional Round. van der Pol belted 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice and was named player of the game for his efforts, even as he saw the Toreros slip into a 1-1 tie in the best-of-7 series.

Gómez Palacio, Mexico-born Vinny Solorzano came through in the clutch. In the bottom of the second, with the bases loaded and the Blazers trailing 1-0, he hit a 2-run single to right-center to put Bloomington on top.

"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Solorzano.

Game 3 is scheduled for Monday, October 17th, 2044 at Field de Los Layendas in Cabo San Lucas. Slated to start are Ruben Cahue for the Bloomington Blazers and Justin Adler for the the Cabo San Lucas Toreros.
