Orange Sox Lose, 6-5, at Moose Head Stadium
|
The Manchester Mooses dealt the Syracuse Orange Sox a 6-5 loss at Moose Head Stadium. Jon Clark was the star on offense. He went 1 for 2 with 3 walks, while scoring 2. Picking up the win was Jimmy Roe. He went 6.1 innings, allowing 5 runs on 7 hits. The right--hander struck out 4 and walked 1. Vinny Medina, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 24th save.
Manchester catcher Bob Jaramillo contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two down, he hit a changeup to right field for a 2-run single. It was his 13th hit of the season and put the Mooses ahead, 5-2.
"To get where we want to as a team, we all have to do things out of our comfort zone," Jaramillo told the Manchester Gazette.
The Mooses saw their win-loss record go to 56-80. At the same time, the Orange Sox fell to 85-52.
