Raucous Arson Arena Crowd Propels Blazers to 3-1 Victory; Series Tied at 3
|
The Bloomington Blazers and the Eureka Hornets will take the Wild Card Round to a decisive 7th game. In a must-win situation, the Blazers beat the Hornets, 3-1, at Arson Arena to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. Bloomington left fielder Jorge Batista went 2-4 with a double and a walk.
Batista contributed in the bottom of the fourth. With a runner on 1st, he hit a run-scoring double. It was one at-bat among others that helped Bloomington get the win.
"Every team in baseball loses," Hornets manager Juan Montés said. "We're in the playoffs and we still have the same guys that got us here. We'll bounce back."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Arson Arena in Bloomington.
