The El Paso Mavericks defeated the Asheville Moonshiners, 2-0, in Game 2 of the Wild Card Round. Doing his part was starter Edwin Serna, who threw 7.0 innings of shutout ball. The win moves El Paso into a 1-1 tie with Asheville in the series.

Matt Dahlk had a critical at-bat with two out in the bottom of the sixth for El Paso. He came through with a run-scoring single to put El Paso in front, 2-0.

El Paso manager Lorenzo Castillo said his team played a "no nonsense" game.

Game 3 is scheduled for Sunday at The Still in Asheville.
