The Antioch Coal Miners wasted no time taking the lead in the Triple A World Series, beating the Calgary Cowboys at Cowboys Field by the score of 8-6. The win gives Antioch a 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Coal Miners right-hander Pat Terry threw 6.1 innings of 2-hit ball.

Antioch used a well-timed hit by Dusty Salstrom to capture the win. The third baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to put the Coal Miners ahead, 3-0. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.

"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Salstrom.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Cowboys Field in Calgary.
