The Frobisher Bay Caribou had to overcome a big game from Thunder Bay shortstop Antonio Vasquez to leave Lightning Grove with a victory. And they did, winning, 6-5. Vasquez went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4. Ivan Vaiz earned the win for Frobisher Bay. He lasted 6 innings, allowing 5 runs on 7 hits, while striking out 9. With the win, he raised his record to 11-6. Matt Cramer sewed up the save, his 13th.
Frobisher Bay used the hitting of David Falconi to pick up the win. The left fielder clubbed a grand slam home run in the top of the first inning to put the Caribou on top, 6-0. For the game, Falconi had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
