Nutcrackers third baseman Tony Montolla put his stamp on his team's 11-5 win over the Sedona Sabercats. Montolla went 4 for 5 with 2 home runs, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 3 for Normal in the contest. Bengie Giron snagged the win in relief. He goes to 3-1 on the season. Ignacio Constante suffered the loss. The 5th-place Nutcrackers sport a record of 56-80.

Jonathan Roman had a big 2-run home run for the Nutcrackers in the top of the second inning. With Normal trailing 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a fastball from 20-year old right-handed pitcher Ignacio Constante and punished it. The result was his 14th home run of the season, which put the Nutcrackers on top, 2-1.

"As well as we've been playing, I think we can play even better," said Normal manager Juan Colo.
