Chambers, Tornadoes Wreck Ridge Runners, 13-2
|
The Kansas City Tornadoes stormed past the Eagle Rock Ridge Runners, 13-2, at Debris Field. Kansas City first basemanAndy Chambers , who is tied for 9th in the RCL with a .324 batting average, led the hit parade. He was 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 4 times and drove in 2. The winning pitcher was Paul Alexander. He's now 4-14. He went 6.2 innings, allowing 2 runs on 7 hits for the Tornadoes. The Tornadoes now have a record of 39-60.
Roberto Navarro had a big 2-run triple for the Tornadoes in the bottom of the first inning. With Kansas City trailing 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a curveball from David Baxley, who is tied for 10th in the RCL in wins with 8, and swatted a triple to left-center. It was his 1st triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Tornadoes ahead, 2-1.
"Things went our way," said Chambers.
