Though he had a terrific game, Bogdan Hopstaken could not prevent his team, the Sedona Sabercats, from absorbing a loss. Savannah won the game, 7-6. Hopstaken went 1-3 with a home run and 2 walks. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. The save went to William Smathers, his 5th this season. The victory gives Savannah a record of 76-56.

Savannah designated hitter Brian Shields helped the Peaches go up, 7-6, in the top of the sixth inning. With the game tied, Shields hit a run-scoring single off Sedona pitcher Alex Cortez.

"It's nice to deliver when your team's counting on you," said Shields.
