Vampires Move on to Little League World Series
|
The Santa Clara Vampires were paced by a strong offensive output from Ryan Falk as they downed the Topeka West Chargers 4-3 to win the League Championship Series.
Santa Clara won the final game by a score of 20-6 at Breakers Ballpark to send themselves off to the Little League World Series.
"I wasn't so much focused on putting up big offensive numbers as I was about ensuring we won the games. So it's mission accomplished there," said left fielder Falk, who was named MVP.
For the series, the MVP hit .458 with a .606 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 10 RBI and scored 8 runs.
The Santa Clara Vampires will play against the Rutland Voodoos in the next round. Rutland won their series against the Frontance Falcons 4 games to 3. The Little League World Series schedule will be announced after the League Championship Series finishes.
