Storm Drop Another One, 11-1
|
The Normal Nutcrackers soundly defeated the Wichita Storm, 11-1, at The Nutcracker Suite. Jose Sanchez let his bat do the talking. He was 2-2 with a home run, a walk, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 for Normal. The win was credited to Jose Trejo in relief. His record improves to 2-1. Dave Elizondo took the loss. The wins continue to add up for Normal. The latest makes it 8 in a row.
With Normal trailing 1-0 in the bottom of the first, Sanchez hit a splitter from Dave Elizondo for a 2-run home run. It was his 22nd home run of the season and put the Nutcrackers ahead, 2-1.
"We're playing like gangbusters right now," said Sanchez.
