Totems Suffer One-Run Loss at Paradise Island
Getting a good performance from shortstop Pablo Lara, the Paradise Island Pirates defeated the Victoria Totems, 6-5. Lara was 3-3 with a double and 2 singles for the Pirates. Reliever Tony Carnero picked up the win. His record improves to 5-0. Bobby Whittemore took the loss. The first-place Pirates, at 89-40, lead the TML R Fred McGriff Division by 3½ games.

In the bottom of the sixth, Paradise Island left fielder Orlando Aguilar had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and one out, Aguilar stroked a 2-run single to right. It made the score 6-1, Paradise Island. For the game, he went 2-5 with 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
