Cyclones CF Barrios 3-for-5 in Win
|
Brooklyn and Boca Raton took Mother Nature's best shot and still managed to complete their ballgame.
The Brooklyn Cyclones handed the Boca Raton Fighting Iguanas a loss at Scripps Field. The final score was 11-5. Major production was provided by Hector Barrios for Brooklyn. In addition to his 2 singles and 1 home run, he scored 3 runs and drove in 2. He also added 1 walk. The winner in relief was Alex Alvarez. He is now 5-4. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 3.1 innings.
Brooklyn used a clutch at-bat from Manny de la Cruz to capture the win. The pinch hitter hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Cyclones ahead, 8-5. It was his lone hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a humdinger.
"Right now, things are falling our way," said Brooklyn manager Jerry Cruz.
This win makes it 6 in a row for Brooklyn.
