Orange Sox Over Rangers, 13-4
The Syracuse Orange Sox soundly defeated the Rockville Rangers, 13-4, at Brewbaker Memorial Stadium, with second baseman Felipe Acuna a major reason why. He was 3 for 5 with 2 doubles. He scored 2 times and drove in 4 for Syracuse. Jim Coneys went 6 innings for Syracuse to pick up the win. The left-hander was charged with 3 runs. He scattered 6 hits, while walking 4 and striking out 9. His record improves to 6-0. Mike York nailed down his 2nd save.

Acuna contributed a big hit, a 2-run double, for Syracuse in the top of the fourth. With his team trailing 2-1, Acuna took a sinker from Edgardo Morales and stroked the double to left. His 2nd double of the season allowed the Orange Sox to leap in front, 3-2.

"It's disappointing, but we have to move on," Rockville manager Bill Gallagher said: "You're going to have games like that."

Syracuse goes to 81-47. The win puts them 9 games up in their division.
