2-1 Loss Extends Prince George Losing Streak
|
Prince George got a terrific performance from pitcher Jose Peralta, but it wasn't enough to beat the Rockville Rangers. Rockville won the Brewbaker Memorial Stadium contest, 2-1. Peralta threw 8.0 innings allowing 2 runs for the losing team. Gustavo Delgado, 6-2, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.2 innings. The Rangers bumped their record to 93-35 with this latest triumph.
Rockville shortstop Ubadah bin Labid helped the Rangers go up, 2-1, in the bottom of the sixth inning. With the game tied, bin Labid hit a run-scoring single off Prince George pitcher Jose Peralta.
"Wins don't come easy," bin Labid told the Rockville Gazette. "They don't just hand them out like lollipops."
