Barbados Defeated by Carrollton, 4-0
|
The Carrollton Rangers got a strong performance from pitcher John Clay, who stymied the Barbados offense en route to a win, 4-0, at Rangers Field. Clay got the win, improving to 2-2. He gave up 6 hits and walked 1 over 6.1 innings. He allowed no runs. The win puts Carrollton at 68-59 this season.
Carrollton took a 2-0 lead on Jose de Hoyos's 8th home run of the season. The solo home run, which de Hoyos hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Barbados pitcher Bobby Lemus visibly frustrated.
"John did a good job of shutting their lineup down," said Carrollton manager Hung-chang Chao.
