Fighting Iguanas Win with Late Heroics
|
Boca Raton Fighting Iguanas starter Fernando Arriaga was in midseason form, as he helped his team beat the Carrollton Rangers, 1-0, in 10 innings. The winner was Boca Raton reliever David Vilca, now 3-11. The loser was Ted Owens. The Fighting Iguanas sport a record of 42-85.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth inning, when Boca Raton second baseman Victor Nogales, facing Luis Trigueiro, had a run-scoring hit-by-pitch. It gave the Fighting Iguanas the 1-0 win.
"I had everything working," said Arriaga.
