Due in part to shortstop David Nieves, the Montreal Cardinals chopped down the Normal Nutcrackers, 6-5, in 10 innings. Nieves went 4-4 with a double, 3 singles, and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs. Normal is still trying to get off the schneid, having lost 6 in a row.

The Cardinals got a clutch hit from left fielder Alex Najera. In the bottom of the tenth, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Cardinals.

"We fed off the energy of the crowd at the end," Nieves said.
