Cardinals Click Off Another Win, 6-2
The Montreal Cardinals got a stellar performance from pitcher Mario Mendoza, who handcuffed the Victoria offense en route to a win, 6-2, at Denis Coderre Stadium. Mendoza got the win, improving to 3-3. He gave up 3 hits and walked 5 over 8 innings. He allowed 2 runs. The first-place Cardinals have won 7 straight.

Mike Ramos had a big 2-run home run for the Cardinals in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Montreal leading 1-0 and a runner on 2nd, he got a fastball from Ricardo Hernandez Jr. and swatted a home run to left. It was his 2nd home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Cardinals ahead, 3-0.

"It never gets old," said Ramos. "Winning, that is."
