Rangers Come Up Short at Caribbean, 4-3
|
Fans saw a dandy of a game between the Caribbean Commies and Carrollton Rangers.
The Caribbean Commies withstood a fine game by Carrollton catcher Fernando Doblado at Castro Field, to upend the Rangers, 4-3. Doblado hit 2 home runs. Caribbean pitcher Cesar Camacho earned the win, hiking his record to 4-18. Chris Oddo suffered the loss. Julio Baez earned the save, his 7th.
Jonathan Cardenas dealt the Rangers a blow in the bottom of the fifth. Batting with the bases loaded and Caribbean leading 3-2, Cardenas hit a 2-1 fastball for a run-scoring single.
"I like the vibe in the clubhouse after a win," said Cardenas. "It sure beats the alternative."
With the win, Caribbean is 19-107.
