Storm Win at Caribbean, 7-4
|
Spirited fans at Castro Field greeted the Caribbean Commies for their clash with the Wichita Storm.
Getting a good performance from first baseman David Brickhouse, the Wichita Storm defeated the Caribbean Commies, 7-4. Brickhouse was 2 for 4 with 2 doubles and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3 for the Storm. Jimmy Ward notched his 14th save in 16 chances.
With Wichita leading 1-0 in the top of the third, Brickhouse hit a fastball from Miguel Contrera for a 2-run double. It was his 17th double of the season and put the Storm ahead, 3-0.
"We're stringing together some nice wins," said Wichita manager Francisco Solano.
The current losing streak for Caribbean has reached 4 games.
