Montreal Tumbles Again, Falls, 4-3, to Normal
The Normal Nutcrackers scooted past the Montreal Cardinals, 4-3, at The Nutcracker Suite. Normal pitcher Alex Saxton, in particular, performed like a star. Steve Carpenter collected his 6th save. The Nutcrackers, now 20-27, know that wins in July count the same as wins in September.

The Nutcrackers got a big at-bat from designated hitter Jeremy Anderson. For the game, Anderson was 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the first, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave Normal a 2-1 lead.

"Alex kept his poise and got the job done," said Normal manager Arnold Layne. "He was outstanding."
