Savannah Picks Up Another L
|
The Wichita Storm locked up a win at The Storm Center, knocking off the Savannah Peaches, 6-3. On the mound for Wichita was right-hander Danny Gomez. He played a major role in the triumph. The win is nice, but Wichita still has an embarrassing 16-105 record.
The Storm got a big at-bat from catcher Juan Trujillo. For the game, Trujillo was 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the sixth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 7th home run of the season gave Wichita a 3-1 lead.
"I warned the team before the game," losing manager David Flecha told reporters, "that I'm wearing the same pair of undies until we win."
