Vargas Powers Timbers to 12-5 Win
The rain made it unbearable at times; nonetheless, the faithful who endured the elements enjoyed themselves.

The 12-5 Oconto Falls win over Victoria was due in large part to Dave Vargas. The Timbers designated hitter was 2-3 with a home run and 3 walks, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. David Bonilla notched his 1st save of the season.

Kevin Sargent had a big bases-clearing double for the Timbers in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Oconto Falls trailing 2-1 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from 20-year old right-handed pitcher Edwin Miramontes and swatted a double to center. It was his 25th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Timbers ahead, 4-2.

"We just try to have good at-bats, whether we're winning, losing, or tied," said Vargas.

At 79-41, Oconto Falls is in second place in the TML R Fred McGriff Division.
