Caribou Topple Orange Sox, 12-10, as Almanza Shines
Franklin Almanza led the Frobisher Bay Caribou to a nifty 12-10 win over the Syracuse Orange Sox. The Frobisher Bay catcher was a force of nature. He banged out 3 extra-base hits, including 2 home runs and 1 double. Ernie Lopez, now 2-1, picked up the win in relief. He allowed 5 runs on 3 hits in 3 innings. Alex Rios closed it out for his 4th save.

Nick Vasquez went 2-4 with 2 singles and a walk, while scoring 2 runs for Frobisher Bay. The 20-year old second baseman had a key at-bat in the top of the third. With no one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 3-3 tie with a run-scoring walk off Alexis Ruiz. It was his 50th walk of the season.

Syracuse manager Alonso Duarte expressed his frustration after the game: "That many runs and it still wasn't enough?"

Frobisher Bay is now 76-44.
