Yuma pitcher Josh Baird did his part in helping his team beat the Sedona Sabercats, 7-2. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. In 8 innings, Baird surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 0. He allowed 2 runs. The last-place Sabercats have lost 5 straight games.
Yuma used the clutch hitting of Marco Chagolia to capture the win. The center fielder drilled a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to give the Varmits the lead, 3-2. For the game, Chagolia had 1 single and 2 doubles in 5 at-bats.
