Balderiama 3-for-3 as Commies Squeeze Past Manchester
|
Powered by Raul Balderiama, the Caribbean Commies downed the Manchester Mooses, 9-8. Balderiama went 3 for 3 with a home run, a double, a walk, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2 for the Commies. Julio Baez earned his 5th save in 7 chances. The win does not change the fact that Caribbean still owns a ghastly 14-103 record.
Caribbean used the hitting of Gao Ke to pick up the win. The first baseman clubbed a grand slam home run in the top of the second inning to put the Commies on top, 5-0. For the game, Ke had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"To get where we want to as a team, we all have to do things out of our comfort zone," Balderiama told the Caribbean Herald.
