Fans who gathered at Brewbaker Memorial Stadium saw a good contest between the Frobisher Bay Caribou and Rockville Rangers.
William Skinner pitched well, but his team, the Rockville Rangers, still dropped a 3-1 decision to the Frobisher Bay Caribou at Brewbaker Memorial Stadium. Mario Cortes went 6 innings for Frobisher Bay to pick up the win. The right-hander was charged with 1 earned run. He scattered 6 hits, while walking 3 and striking out 4. His record improves to 2-2. Oscar Jimenez got the save, the 12th for him this season.
Frobisher Bay used the clutch hitting of Victor Flores to capture the win. The designated hitter drilled a 2-run double in the top of the third inning to give the Caribou the lead, 2-0. For the game, Flores had 1 single and 1 double in 4 at-bats.
"We faced good pitching and still got it done," said Flores.
With the win, the Caribou improved to 23-52.
