Montreal Slaps 5-1 Loss on Savannah
|
Montreal starter Ricky Nunez put the Savannah offense in a vise grip. The right-hander relied heavily on his fastball in leading the Cardinals to a 5-1 win. Nunez, now 6-5, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 8 hits, while striking out 10, walking 7, and allowing 1 run. The Cardinals lead the TML R Otto Velez Division by 3 games.
The Cardinals got a big at-bat from first baseman Dave Quiros. For the game, Quiros went 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 4th home run of the season gave Montreal a 3-0 lead.
