Rangers Pick Up 5-1 Win Against Barbados
|
Getting offensive support from Kevin Ninneman, the Rockville Rangers topped the Barbados Revenge, 5-1. Ninneman belted 2 home runs for the Rangers. Alex Lopez, now 3-0, was credited with the win in 1.2 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit, while striking out 2 and walking 0. Earning the save was Rich Quintero. He's now cashed in 2 of 3 save opportunities.
The Rangers got a big at-bat from designated hitter Alfonso Casiano. For the game, Casiano was 1 for 3 with a home run, a walk, and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the first, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 5th home run of the season gave Rockville a 2-0 lead.
"We did a lot of good things tonight," said Rockville manager Bill Gallagher.
The 5th-place Rangers have won 4 straight.
