Angel Rodriguez was outstanding against Barbados. The left-hander, who is tied for 4th in the RR in strikeouts with 158, had a splitter that was virtually unhittable at times. The result was a Commies 4-3 win. Roberto Vasquez picked up the win in relief. Carlos Sanchez took the loss for Barbados. The Commies, at 45-68, sit in 5th place in the RCL R John Mayberry Division.

Alvaro Gonzalez was the walk-off hero for Caribbean. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Commies left fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"We came out on the wrong end of this one," said Barbados skipper Dan Barkdull.
