Commies Walk Off with Win
The Castro Field faithful were treated to an exciting walk-off win.

Yuma got a terrific performance from pitcher Rodrigo Portillo, but it wasn't enough to beat the Caribbean Commies. Caribbean won the Castro Field contest, 5-1. Portillo was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 7 innings of 5-hit ball. The Commies saw their win-loss record go to 30-41. At the same time, the Varmits fell to 36-35.

Jordan Fernandez took Tore O'Brien deep in the bottom of the 11th. His grand slam home run put the Commies on top, 5-1. In all, Fernandez had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 6.

"It was a tough night at the plate," said Yuma manager Ray Stephens.
