The Wichita Storm overcame a good performance by Yuma first baseman Bernardo Heredia to knock off Yuma, 8-6, at The Storm Center. Heredia went 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Jimmy Ward recorded the save for Wichita, his 10th of the season. The first-place Storm have won 10 in a row.

Willis Hernandes aided the Wichita cause with a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the first. For the game, the catcher went 2-3 with a double and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.

"Been a rough stretch for us," said Yuma manager Ray Stephens.
