Commies Get Past Frobisher Bay for 5-4 Win
The Caribbean Commies beat the Frobisher Bay Caribou, 5-4, at Castro Field. Steve Curtis was recognized as player of the game for his performance. He went 3-4 with a home run and a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The 21-year old second baseman was a menace to Frobisher Bay all day. Jesus Alvarez got credit for the save for Caribbean. It was his 5th of the year. With the win over Frobisher Bay, the Commies improved to 27-40.

The game was all tied up in the bottom of the eighth, until Curtis delivered big-time for Caribbean, stroking a dramatic 2-run home run off Danny Roman. The game-changing hit put the Commies on top, 5-3.

"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Curtis told a Caribbean Observer reporter. "Sometimes we need just to relax."
