Velazques Goes Wild, But Peaches Win
Victoria center fielder Ricky Velazques pounded Savannah Peaches pitchers at Royal Athletic Park, but it was not enough to keep the Totems from falling, 9-7. Velazques belted 2 home runs, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 4. Earning his 15th save of the year was Hideto Miyamoto. Savannah now sits at 64-43, while Victoria falls to 72-36.

Savannah used the hitting of Arturo Rivas to pick up the win. The first baseman clubbed a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Peaches on top, 8-7. For the game, Rivas had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"Baseball is about momentum," said Rivas, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
