Pirates Defeated, 7-2
The The Stinging Larvae beat the Paradise Island Pirates, 7-2, at Predator Park. The Stinging center fielder David Avitia had the hot bat. He was 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. Danny Ortega, the winner, is now 7-5. He struck out 9 and walked 4 over 5.1 innings, while allowing 1 run on 5 hits. The defeat makes Paradise Island 40-68.

The Stinging used a well-timed hit by Jake Downes to capture the win. The third baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to put the Larvae ahead, 3-0. Though it was his only hit in 5 at-bats, it was important.

"If the personal accolades come, so be it," said Downes. "I just want to win ballgames."
