Brooklyn Makes It 6 Straight with 9-8 Win
The Brooklyn Cyclones outlasted Salvatore Larios and the Barbados Revenge, 9-8. Larios was impressive in the loss. The Barbados catcher went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Brooklyn reliever Soichi Sunada picked up the win, upping his record to 4-3. Omar Salcedo was saddled with the loss. The Cyclones, at 68-39, have now won 6 straight.

Brooklyn used the timely hitting of Chris Mares to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Cyclones on top, 9-8. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"Guys seem to be putting together some really nice at-bats right now," said Cyclones manager Ed Otto.
