The Victoria Totems topped the Rockville Rangers, 5-4, in TMLR action at Brewbaker Memorial Stadium. The player of the game was Victoria pitcher and San Juan, Puerto Rico native Alex Cruz. Bobby Aguilar got credit for the save for Victoria. It was his 9th of the year. Victoria is now 36-27, Rockville 32-31.
Victoria used the clutch hitting of Steve Donohue to capture the win. The left fielder drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Totems ahead, 2-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"We had a good game plan," Cruz said, "and we were able to execute it."
