Paradise Island got an elite performance from starting pitcher Kyle Phillips in securing a 5-0 decision over the Coronado Islanders. The second-place Pirates improved to 15-4.

Phillips dominated for Paradise Island, raising his record to 3-0. Coronado hitters had few good at-bats against the left-hander, who scattered 3 hits over 8.1 innings while striking out 11.

"Kyle giving us the start that he did was huge," said Paradise Island manager Jorge Ávila.
