Carrollton Pins 9-5 Loss on Rangers
|
Oscar Mendez had a good game, but he could not keep the Rockville Rangers from falling, 9-5, to the Carrollton Rangers at Brewbaker Memorial Stadium. The Rockville catcher slugged 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice in the loss. The win belonged to Victor Villafane in relief. His record improves to 4-2. Dante Sagace took the loss for Rockville. The win elevated the Rangers to 53-49.
Carrollton used the hitting of Manny Alarcon to pick up the win. The designated hitter clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Rangers on top, 6-4. For the game, Alarcon had 1 home run and 1 single in 3 at-bats.
"We just try to have good at-bats, whether we're winning, losing, or tied," said Alarcon.
