Caribou Win Nail-Biter, 2-1
|
The Frobisher Bay Caribou got a magnificent effort from pitcher Diego Nunez, who kept Boca Raton hitters in check en route to a 2-1 Caribou win at Pittodrie Stadium. Frobisher Bay has won 5 consecutive games.
The decisive blow was delivered by David Falconi in the bottom of the 11th when he hit a solo home run off 18-year old right-handed pitcher Mike Howard to win the game for Frobisher Bay. The home crowd went nuts.
Afterward, Caribou manager Pete Valley was ebullient. "That was a fun game to coach," he told a group of reporters, adding, "I hope it was just as fun to watch."
