The Victoria Totems managed to get by the Yuma Varmits, 5-4, at Royal Athletic Park. Victoria pitcher Bill Lovett set himself apart with his performance. The Totems, at 10-4, have a record worth flaunting.

Victoria got a clutch hit from Billy Zack. The third baseman launched a solo home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a kill shot.

"Bill is a tough competitor," said Victoria manager Senta Nakano.
