Rangers Lose, 11-2; No End to Nosedive
The Normal Nutcrackers used an offensive barrage to beat the Carrollton Rangers, 11-2, at The Nutcracker Suite. Dave Vargas led the way, going 4-for-4 for Normal. The Rangers, at 3-10, have stumbled out of the gate.

Normal catcher Bill Lipscomb contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the third. With two down, he hit a fastball to right-center field for a 2-run single. It was his 4th hit of the season and put the Nutcrackers ahead, 4-1.

"This game is going to humble you at times and you've got to man up and deal with it," said Carrollton manager Hung-chang Chao.
