Lighting Earn Win with Late Rally
|
The Thunder Bay Lighting beat the Carrollton Rangers by a score of 6-5. Thunder Bay center fielder David Bieganski deserved the lion's share of the credit. Bieganski was 3-3 with a triple, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI for the Lighting. The win went to Ed Rauscher in relief. His record improves to 3-0. Peter Hutchins took the loss. Thunder Bay is third in the RCL R John Mayberry Division with a record of 59-43.
Bieganski had an important at-bat with the bases loaded in the bottom of the sixth, when he hit a bases-clearing triple. The Lighting went on to win.
Thunder Bay manager Masamune Fujimoto was pleased with the team's effort. "Our guys played hard, they played all the way through," he said.
