The Yuma Varmits picked up a win at Erie Park, knocking off the Erie Seawolves, 5-2. Starting pitcher Israel Gonzales, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. Paul Antoinette was called on to finish, recording his 11th save. Yuma has now won 3 in a row.

Yuma used the timely hitting of Eric Londo to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Varmits on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"We take it day by day here," said Londo, "and today was a good one for us."
